A Unique Techno-Blended Approach

MathIT techno-blended lesson: teacher projecting a coordinate-geometry PowerPoint while learners explore the same mathematics on tablets and phones.

MathIT’s techno-blended model draws on the KTMT and related models, as mathematics-specific extensions of the TPACK framework. It uses curriculum-aligned digital tools that actively mediate mathematical meaning rather than merely decorate lessons. Informed by decades of resource development and tutoring experience, the model produces user-friendly, CAPS- and NCV-aligned techno-pedagogical materials that function online, offline and on any PC or mobile device. Interactive resources provide multiple representations and learning pathways to support both dialogic classroom teaching and independent study. Teachers can project curated PowerPoint lessons while learners explore the same concepts at their own pace through applets on phones or tablets. The same digital topic packs later serve homework, after-school revision and self-assessment without additional preparation. This integrated approach combines classroom support, self-directed practice, exam revision, self-assessment with feedback, and optional AI-tutoring. It is designed specifically for the practical realities of South African public schools and TVET colleges.
