MathIT Techno-Blended Maths Support

Mathematics tutoring support

MathIT provides focused, topic-based CAPS-aligned tutoring for secondary school learners and TVET college students, available online or face-to-face by appointment. Sessions target key misconceptions and build the confidence and practical skills needed to engage effectively in meaningful, technology-supported self-directed learning.

Who it’s for

  • Those who need targeted support in Mathematics - Secondary school (Grades 10–12) or TVET college students.
  • Those who want to clear specific misconceptions and skills defecits on topic areas before exams or assessments.
  • Those who are ready to move from dependence on classroom teaching toward confident, technology-supported self-study.

How a session works

  1. Identify the focus — We start with the specific topic or misconception the learner needs to address.
  2. Targeted tutoring — Clear explanation, guided practice, and sharing to support ongoing self-directed learning.
  3. Post-session distribution — Free content-relevant interactive applets, AI-tutoring information and selected digital resources are shared.
  4. Record & revisit — Online sessions can be recorded and shared, giving learners a reliable reference for self-directed review.

Session-specific free resources for self-directed learning

After every session, learners receive free, targeted access to content-relevant interactive applets and accompanying worksheets precisely matched to the topics and misconceptions covered. Clear guidance on accessing maths-related AI-tutoring support is also shared during each session. This equips learners to use AI tools effectively as a technology-based complement to human tutoring. These resources linked to tutoring sessions are provided to support ongoing independent practice and self-directed learning.

What makes MathIT tutoring different

MathIT combines personal, appointment-based tutoring with curated techno-blended support. Sessions target specific topic challenges and misconceptions identified by the learner rather than covering entire chapters.
Learners leave with:

  • Clarity on the concept(s) that was blocking progress.
  • AI-tutoring guidance and content-relevant digital resources for independent practice.
  • Optional session recordings for later reflection.

The goal is lasting confidence in learning mathematics.
